Poll Results: The OnePlus 16 Had the Potential for Global Success
Our latest poll results are in, revealing a bittersweet reality: the OnePlus 16 possesses all the hallmarks of a global sensation, provided the company hadn't retreated from the majority of international markets. Despite a price hike that mirrors the broader industry trend, the brand's appeal and the device's overall value proposition remain remarkably potent.

The allure of the OnePlus 16 is so significant that a surprising volume of respondents are actually considering importing the device. Interest is also peaking in India, which stands as the only market outside of China to receive an official launch.
The most prominent sentiment among voters—comprising nearly one-third of the total—is a genuine desire for the phone, tempered only by a reluctance to deal with the logistics of overseas importing. Notably, the debut of the Oppo Find X10 series has done little to dampen this enthusiasm; the OnePlus 16 simply stands out as a superior piece of hardware.
Cost is a significant factor here. While Indian pricing remains unconfirmed, the Chinese market reveals a steep climb: the entry-level 12GB/256GB configuration starts at CNY 6,000, surpassing the price of last year's top-tier 16GB/1TB OnePlus 15, which retailed for CNY 5,400. Interestingly, only about 12% of participants viewed this pricing as excessive—a figure roughly equal to those who are still weighing other flagship alternatives.
It seems unlikely that OnePlus will pivot its strategy to reclaim its global footprint at this stage. This leaves a vacuum in the market for Oppo, traditionally the more luxury-oriented brand, and Realme—which notably skipped a GT-series flagship this year—to capture the remaining demand.
